Known as \u201cGoyo\u201d, \u201cThe Teacher\u201d or \u201cThe Manchego\u201d, he wasn\u2019t always involved with the soccer industry, rather, he spent 16 years of his career focused on teaching. He was a teacher in the I.E.S El Valle de Ja\u00e9n where, as an anecdote, the bullfighter Enrique Ponce was once one of his students. <\/b> <\/p>

Big soccer lover, he was a player in the Recreativo de Bail\u00e9n until an injury forced him to retire when he was about to be signed by the Sevilla F.C. <\/b> <\/p>

His life as coach would start in 1983 in Santisteban del Puerto, <\/b> a town in the Ja\u00e9n province, when he became the coach of said team, while also keeping up his work as a teacher at the same time. From that moment forth, his abilities as psycologist and instructor take him through several clubs in the province, like the \u00dabeda C.F, until he is signed by the Real Ja\u00e9n in 1990. <\/b> <\/p>

In 1992 <\/b> he decided to quit his job as a teacher <\/b> to focus on his training, and was signed by the Talavera in the second league division B four years later. <\/b> <\/p>

Ever since he was signed by the Toledo in the second league division A in 1998 <\/b> and later debuted in first division with the Valladolid, <\/b> Manzano will become the savior many teams that found themselves in a tough spot, and will amass several successes with big teams, like the Copa del Rey with the Mallorca in 2003. <\/b> His worth as the best coach <\/b> would be recognized in 2008 <\/b>, when he was awarded with the \u201cPremio Don Bal\u00f3n\u201d, <\/b> and his labor as ambassador for the promotion of Ja\u00e9n\u2019s culture and olive oil would be rewarded with the \u201cJa\u00e9n, Para\u00edso Interior\u201d award. <\/b> <\/p>

His career <\/b> has led him to train big Spanish teams such as the Atl\u00e9tico de Madrid, the M\u00e1laga C.F., and the Sevilla F.C., whilst the most recent stage of his journey pairs him with teams from the Chinese Super League. <\/b> <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
