This time, we are looking at a building from the 18th century which was once a school and was later donated by the families of Bail\u00e9n, Corchado and Barreda to the Santa Vera Cruz Brotherhood.<\/p>\n

Through a rounded archway, the fa\u00e7ade gives us access to the temple to admire its most outstanding element, the half-barrel vaulted ceiling centred in the transept and presbytery, decorated with plant motifs where voluminous acanthus leaves surround the crests, two of them held up by innocent children.<\/p>\n

The image of \u201cCristo de la Expiraci\u00f3n\u201d (Christ of the Last Breath) gives this temple its name, which is home to the \u201cSanta Vera Cruz\u201d Brotherhood, possibly the town\u2019s oldest.<\/p>\n

The images of \u201cCristo de Medinaceli\u201d (Christ of Medinaceli), \u201cOraci\u00f3n en el Huerto\u201d (The Agony in the Garden), \u201cVirgen de los Siete Cuchillos\u201d (The Virgin of the Seven Daggers), \u201cEcce-Homo\u201d, \u201cSanta Mujer Ver\u00f3nica\u201d (Holy Woman Veronica) and a collection of carvings that make up the \u201cDescendimiento de Nuestro Se\u00f1or Jesucristo\u201d (The Descent of Our Lord Jesus Christ) can be admired in its interior.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

If you would like to visit, you can do so each Friday from 19:30 until 22:00 during summer and from 18:00 until 21:00 during winter opening hours. In addition, in May, this hermitage is open every evening from 19:00 until 22:00.
