Paquita Torres

Born in Bailén, with only 18 years of age she was chosen as Miss Spain in 1966. The fifth of six siblings, she would move to Málaga to start working at the Parador de Málaga Golf. On occasion, she had already been advised to participate on beauty pageants, due to the potential they could see in her.

Paquita had never given any real thought to the suggestion, until one day she decided to participate in a pageant organized by the Afternoon Paper of the Costa del Sol where she would be chosen as Miss Málaga. Only two months later she was crowned as Miss Andalucía and the representative of her Autonomous Community in the Miss Spain ceremony.

That was only the start of a prosperous career, since later she would be named as Miss World Sympathy, Miss Europe and would become one of Paco Rabanne and Pertegaz’s favourite models, as well as launching herself as an actress in movies such as “Los que tocan el piano” (Those that play the piano, 1968), Objetivo BI-KI-NI (Objective BI-KI-NI, 1968), Susana (1969) and “Mi marido y sus complejos” (My husband and his insecurities, 1969).
